The studio session that Donald Byrd and Bobby Jaspar recorded for the French radio program "Jazz aux Champs-Elysées" was made during Byrd's stay in Europe for several months in 1958
During this time, the modern jazz trumpeter led a top-class quintet with which he performed at festivals in various countries; among others, at the Paris jazz club "Au Chat Qui Pêche" in the Rue de la Huchette
The club quickly became a regular venue for the musicians and brought them contacts with French radio, which invited them to sessions in November and December
The previously unreleased recording is limited to 4000 copies
Atmospheric, groovy jazz that invites you to enjoy!
