Sam Records is proud to present this previously unreleased concert by the Donald Byrd / Bobby Jaspar quintet which was recorded during the evening dedicated to 'Modern Jazz' at the first and only Cannes Jazz Festival on July 11, 1958
The initiative for this unique festival came from Yvonne Blanc, a lady of good society who played the piano and lived between Paris and Cannes
This festival was organised in partnership with the festival of Knokke-le-Zoute, in Belgium
